This proof-of-concept project in Georgetown is laying the foundation for a first-of-its-kind
workforce cottage community. Developed in partnership between the Fuller Center for Housing
of Delaware and Little Living LLC, the initiative aims to provide compact, high-quality,
stick built homes for working residents who struggle to find housing options near where
they work, learn, play, and pray — at a price their salary allows them to afford.
Construction began on April 15, 2025, with two prototype homes: one two-bedroom and
one one-bedroom. Located on a donated parcel near the Perdue plant, these rental units
are expected to lease for approximately $1,000 per month.
The Town of Georgetown is currently developing a new ordinance, scheduled for
presentation in August, to enable the zoning required for the full project. If approved,
the team hopes to expand into a full neighborhood of 8–12 homes.
